Pat Oyama has been more and more influenced by her natural surroundings. She has become quite literal in her use of actual impressions of wood grains and plants on porcelain and stoneware slabs. Memories of Kyoto walks and Alfred, New York seasons come back to augment the feel of Santa Cruz Mountains of the present. Her work has been exhibited mostly in California and New York.
